Paris Café XIV, French Landscape Painting

It was a chilly day for the summertime in Paris, even drizzling from time to time. When I was walking to search for painting ideas in the neighborhood of Montmartre, nobody was out on this narrow street. Under the overcast sky, gray buildings standing on both sides suddenly felt like lifeless giants. I was cold and couldn't feel inspired enough for some reason.

I thought a nice warm bowl of soupe à l'oignon (onion soup) wouldn't be a bad idea on a day like this. I decided to go to the end of the street to see the windmill and leave. It was at that time this couple appeared from around the corner. That moment was my inspiration for this painting. Do you feel l'amour in the air?

What can I say...You have a wonderful way of getting at the heart of inspiration...as thay say Keiko....you've found your groove!

Pat, thank you for your generous and encouraging words. For an encore? I have to listen to my muse and let her decide what/when/where/how to sing. If Paris is the stage, it shouldn't be so difficult, I think...

You're quite welcome ! I was just teasing about the "Encore"...I love all your paintings..in fact I can't wait to see what you've done next!!
My oldest daughter paints in watercolor the same way you do...I wish I could, but my drafting background won't let me. When I do watercolor, it's "dry brush" style. Oh well...Keep up the great work Lady, and keep lostening to that Muse!

I purchases Keiko Tanabe's submission for Valentines Day. A gift to myself, which is sometimes the best way to celebrate a special day.
The painting arrived meticulously packaged with a lovely note from Keiko. I hope to make her work a continued collection and perhaps arrange for her to be shown in my local art gallery in the near future.
Her work is absolutely beautiful. I aspire to have her vision and talent.
