For somebody who does mainly landscapes and cityscapes, painting an indoor scene is "a whole different animal," you might say.  It presents a different set of challenges and problems to be solved.  But I like it especially when the light, whether it is natural light from windows or indoor lighting, creates a strong contrast of light and dark.
