As the autumn air begins to feel wintry, I get cravings for sweet Fuyu persimmons.  It's time to head to Pauma Valley for persimmon picking.  Situated between Valley Center and Palomar Mountain in the northeast of San Diego, Pauma Valley produces not just my favorite fruit but avocado, citrus, etc. as well on its lush, fertile agricultural land.

In this painting, I exaggerated a little in terms of perspective in order to create an illusion as if we were walking down into the valley from a persimmon orchard.   But this is exactly the way I remember this idyllic valley being so inviting to me, especially at this time of the year.
