We Can Do It: Week 3

Three weeks ago, in the midst of all the sudden changes in our lives caused by the current pandemic, I decided to give away my painting each week to someone working on the front line, to bring a little bit of space where they might be able to find peace and quiet.  Read more about this effort, called "We Can Do It," on my previous blog post Week One and Week Two.   It was my honor and absolute privilege that the 2 paintings already went to new homes where there's someone who fights this terrible disease to save lives.  If you are or know someone in the health care or essential businesses, and interested in this painting (original), I'm happy to send it to you.  Please contact me and share a little bit of your experience with me.

 

We can all "try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud" (Maya Angelou) and at a time like now it is even more important to do so.

Ohhhh💛 Keiko..... you are amazing!..... I know you have a very generous heart.... it comes out in so many ways when you are with people. I would love to honor this painting ..... as you may remember I'm a Labour and delivery nurse in Vancouver and .... well..... want to put more energy into watercolors now...... just have to do it. But honestly.... so many deserving people please, as I do have some of your beautiful work already , please give this to whom ever you believe will also understand it's beauty...... I would love to see one of your paintings go to my niece Lindsey McKinley. She is a doctor in Portland Oregon and has recently recovered from this disease. She is on vacation this week and was supposed to come to Florida. But due to circumstances she has volunteered to Work in New York this week on her vacation. She would love one of your paintings And I feel she is very deserving for all she has been through.

Evergreenhealth Hospital in Kirkland, WA was one of the first hospitals hit with the covid19. ( this hospital received most of the elderly from Life Care Center, where 39 elderly died. One of the emergency room doctors is Dr. Ryan Padgett. Dr. Padgett is a 6'5” 250 lb doctor who had played pro football. At 44 years he is physically fit. This doctor almost lost his life when he contracted Covid19. He is finally on the road to recovery. I don't know him personally, but I know that his hospital is in the top 100 hospitals in the US. (My Husband and I have both needed that hospital in the past and both of us have benefitted from the emergency room.) Please consider Dr. Padgett to be a recipient on one of your painting

When we hear about it, it makes all of us feel very proud and appreciative of what they do.
