What adjectives are good to describe the Mission Inn?  Beautiful is too ordinary.  Majestic, grand, eclectic, breathtaking, glorious... and massive.  It occupies an entire city block in the heart of Riverside.  To paint it, I can only tackle one section at a time.

A historic landmark hotel, the Mission Inn boasts many different architectural styles.  But the Mission Revival style is a main feature that makes it look like one of the California missions.  I didn't know this, but there is a rumor that the Inn was once a California mission.  The Inn's founder Miller was "an eccentric who liked to dress up in a monk's attire and hand out oranges to arrivals.  Thus began this erroneous rumor (Los Angeles Times)."  Enchanting.  One more adjective to add to my list above.
