Star of India (SD100-43)

Built in 1863 in the Isle of Man, the Star of India was originally named Euterpe after the Greek goddess of music.  Today she is the world's oldest working ship and the pride of people in San Diego.

Her majestic appearance is not just because of being a full-rigged ship but also because it reflects her long, colorful history of sailing around the world.  When she is not sailing, she is docked at San Diego Bay as seen in this painting.
