It always makes me smile to see this Metropolitain sign in Paris.  It just makes me happy to walk under the sign held by two skinny cast-iron plant-like stems with big orange heads (they are lamps).  I also like it because the design is elegant and ornate but not too showy.

These Art Nouveau Métro entrances were designed by an architect named Hector Guimard to resemble sprigs of Lilies of the Valley.   Around the metro entrance, it always feels like a springtime, a time that represents youth and new beginnings… maybe that's why I feel happy to see it.
